CUSTOMER REVIEWS
We're marble run fans! It's our favorite type of toy, and one that adults and children can equally enjoy. We had first purchased the Hape Quadrilla after rave review as we wanted something wooden (you've got to love the sound of marbles rolling on/hitting wood). The Quadrilla is quite exotic and beautifully made, especially with its signature spirals, but it constantly needed tweaking as blocks and other pieces tend to eventually misalign after a few cascades of marbles. We had the Vertigo model of Quadrilla, which also wound up being taller than expected, so anyone who's feeding all the marbles at the top (based on a table set up) is missing all the action happening below, and this needs a lot of marbles to really be effective. We spent half the evening chasing after marble strays (due to blocks that were slightly budged) which got a bit annoying. On top of that, if you don't purchase the separate ball catchers, they'll become totally rouge when they reach the end which would be a nightmare. When it was time for a few dishes to be put on the table, I gently pushed the massive layout aside and it toppled. At that point, we packed it up and sent it back, as none of us really felt it was rewarding enough to bother again. We now have the Hubelino 106 piece building set (we also purchased the Twisters and added elements pack). Setting this up was a pleasure, as we started with some basic layouts using the official app. It's very much like the LEGO animated instructions they have for certain kits. In no time, we built our first basic set, and watched the balls traverse in and out of the weaving track. The Hubelino sets do not come with marbles, instead, they're hollow, plastic balls, about the size of of extra large shooter marble. They're very airy, yet quite strong and they sound great rolling through the plastic pipeline and plopping from track to track. The track pieces are insanely durable.. made of strong ABS plastic with a super shiny finish, sporting strong primary colors. The support blocks come in various sizes, and because they are all white, the boldly-colored track really pop, making it easier to follow the balls. The twister add on pieces are your basic funnels, which all marble runs need ...they extend the time of the run as your marbles/balls spin around numerous times before they drop through the chute. It's another well designed piece to compliment the your set. Children will find it very easy to make their own configurations, however, in order to utilize every track piece, they'll need to strategically lay out the support blocks so they don't get used up before you finish a layout. We thought it would be the opposite, assuming there would be lots of white support blocks left over.Overall, this marble run is a very polished package with pieces that fit together so beautifully, and since it's Duplo compatible, you can use your own LEGO Duplo blocks to extend your set even further. My only complaint (minor) is that the app has very few samples. We do realize the whole point of a marble run is building your own, but we also love how intelligently designed the premade layouts are, as they take advantage of every last piece. Oh, and one last thing - you can use your own glass marbles of various sizes as well!

I love marble runs, and after looking at all the options on Amazon, we bought this one for my 3 and 5 year old daughters for Christmas mostly because it looked pretty simple. It's been a hit since the second they opened it. Very easy to use and figure out, very well made, and it does fit perfectly with Duplo, unlike some other brands that claim to. They've had fun adding on legos that they already had to make it go higher and go under bridges, etc. We even kept playing with it after the kids were in bed! Definitely worthwhile and an extra bonus that they can use it with their existing Duplo sets.
