CUSTOMER REVIEWS
I apologize if this is a long review but people must be informed. Prior to ordering this toy I read some of the reviews on Amazon. The "Helpful Reviews" and decided that of those "Helpful Reviews" the handful of bad experiences had to be isolated. After placing my order I became more concerned with those bad reviews. I decided to go back and read further and found that the "Helpful Reviews" were mostly dated in 2010 but that the current reviews, 2012, gave this toy the majority of the one star reviews it has received. I contacted Amazon because this is to be a gift for my daughter on her upcoming second birthday and wanted to avoid a poor experience. After explaining the situation to the representative with Amazon I decided to roll the dice and allow the product to ship with the understanding that Amazon would make right if this turned out poorly.I picked the box up this morning from our local post office and minutes upon opening it contacted Amazon to return it.I have a hard time claiming that the item is counterfeit but something clearly isn't right. After driving up to our local Wal-Mart and spending a little extra I now have both Buzz Lightyear toys in front of me for comparison. Both toys are supposedly manufactured by Thinkway Toys. The toy from Wal-Mart clearly has the logo and copyright information while the toy from Amazon has none. The plastic used for the toy from Amazon is clearly of a cheaper quality and the paint applications are very sloppy.I still have a hard time believing that so many varying sellers have counterfeit product within Amazon's warehouse but I stand by that this product is clearly inferior to what can currently be purchased off the toy shelves of your local Wal-Mart or Target for a few dollars more.

Probably the best of the Toy Story figures. Looks great in person, just like Buzz from the movies. His wings fold back and pop out when you press a button. Then they twinkle with lights. Very cool. His laser effects are loud and the light on that arm shines a bright red. His other arm has a neat hinged cover that he can open up to communicate with Star Command. All of his phrases are crystal clear lines from the movie, isolated for the toy. Loud enough to enjoy, but not be annoying. Tim Allen's voice, of course. He is fully articulated and easy to stand in multiple positions. His size is perfect, relative to the talking Woody, talking Jesse, talking Zurg, and plush Bullseye being sold on Amazon. They look like they walked out of the movies when played with together.Very well-made. Lots of fun for little Toy Story addicts! :)BUY IT.
Daddy in Dallas - July 8, 2014
This seriously has to be one of the cheapest made products for the money that I have ever bought for my son. Buzz is very top heavy, so he does not stand well on his own at all. Within 3 months our son dropped the toy and one of his feet broke off. A couple of months after that, the toy got dropped again and the other leg broke off at the knee. Within a year, the helmet stopped working and no longer stays in the closed position. The wings are easy to deploy, but very difficult for a younger child to return to the closed position on their own. And the all of the joints are stuff and difficult to maneuver. I will not be purchasing a new buzz lightyear in the future, unless there are several changes made to the design of the toy.The one and only good thing I can say about this product is that the sound quality is good and sounds just like the Buzz in the movie. Beyond that, this toy is one of the biggest pieces of junk for the money that I have ever seen. I have purchased $10 toys from the dollar general that are higher quality than this thing.
ByZalmorion the Fantastic - February 4, 2015
Like others, had it a day before a foot broke off merely from me picking it up. Bad third birthday gift. The plastic around the screw must be very pliable or thin because it broke off where the tubing for the screw is. Will have to get one from the store this time.
Zalmorion the Fantastic - July 12, 2015
Like many, I chose to ignore the bad reviews and hope that I would be singing this toys' praises like many others. Boy was I wrong! Upon receiving this item, it was very evident that it had been repackaged and sold again. There was a utility knife cut across the side of the box (when I received it, it was covered in layers of bubble wrap and I used a scissors to open the shipping box so I know this was not created by me). Mismatched tape was holding the box together in places. The light bulb cover piece on the right wing flew across the room when we extended Buzz's wings. A piece of the left wing was broken and dangling. There were scratches all over the helmet, and a spot of green paint on the helmet as well. Needless to say, I was beyond disappointed. I will absolutely be returning this item (despite how devastated my 21 month old son will be) and taking my chances ordering from the Disney Store instead. As an Amazon Prime member who places several orders a week, I have never been so disappointed with a product. To say this toy was pathetic is an understatement. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!
Bychevygirl*85 - April 17, 2013
Had return the first one because the helmet was damaged and the joints were really loose, and the stickers were misplaced and peeling off. It looked like it was a returned item already. The next one came wrapped and pristine. My kid loves it. He likes to make him fly and get in "dangerous" situations. Goes great with his Woody doll! He really is a cool toy! The Wings are really really cool. And he says a lot more than the toy in the movie. No flexibility in the hips though, so no Spanish dancing for this Buzz! Also strangely, the laser sound is NOT the same sound effect from the movie. Honestly Disney, you have the rights to the audio file and you can't put it in the toy? IT irks me every time I hear that laser go off.
chevygirl*85 - April 10, 2017
Our two-year-old's favorite toy, hands down. The lines are very funny (watching him imitate Buzz choking and gagging after opening his helmet is always a hoot), the wings work well almost all the time (occasionally the flashing LED's don't kick off), and the helmet and other moving parts have held up well for many months. Definitely a good buy for kids who love Disney/Pixar.

Deconstructing Disney

Deconstructing Disney

Pluto Press. 1999 gbs preview - Disney Advanced Talking Buzz Lightyear Action Figure 12" (Official Disney Product)

Demonising Disney is nothing new. Disney films have long been synonymous with a certain conservative, patriarchal, heterosexual ideology, occupying a centre-stage position at the heart of the evil empire. Deconstructing Disney takes issue with knee-jerk polarities, overturning classical oppositions and recognising that, just as the Disney ‘text’ has changed, so too must the terms of critical engagement. This book is a sharply focused deconstruction of the political culture — and the cultural politics — of the Disney canon in the years since the emergence of the so-called New World Order. Eleanor Byrne and Martin McQuillan offer a critical encounter with Disney which alternates between readings of individual texts and wider thematic concerns such as race, gender and sexuality, the broader context of American contemporary culture, and the global ambitions and insularity of the last great superpower. The movies discussed include The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Pocohontas, Snow White, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, Hercules and Mulan.

Every film analysis includes reviews, four-star ratings, background information, plot synopses, accurate running times, consumer tips, and MPAA ratings. Brief guides to made-for-TV movies, direct-to-video releases, foreign films that were never theatrically released in the U.S., and live-action films with significant animation round out the volume.

Gamibots

Gamibots

Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. 2014 gbs preview - Disney Advanced Talking Buzz Lightyear Action Figure 12" (Official Disney Product)

What are Gamibots? Gamibots is a new and unique craft for children. It is a twist on origami, by creating a robot out of paper. Gamibots originated when I was younger and my family didn’t have much money to spend on toys, so I created Gamibots out of paper to play with instead. The difference with Gamibots is that you can create more than one, even building an army to play with. Once they are destroyed, worn down, or deteriorated, they can be recreated again. When I was in third grade, my teacher was astonished by my creation. She gave me a portion of the day to teach my class to fold Gamibots for art class. Everyone was able to follow my step-by-step directions. Just recently, I did a test run showing Gamibots to children of different ages. They all loved it and were very curious. My target audience is nine years old and older. However, I also showed my product to toddlers, who loved it as well. Although toddlers may not be able to fold the paper perfectly, their parents can, and then they can play with the end product.
