CUSTOMER REVIEWS
I just recently purchased this kite and took it out for a test flight. Assembling the kite was fairly straightforward--though getting the rigid support beams in place is an exercise in terror since it feels like you're going to tear something. (Nothing tore.) The dragon does actually fly, and it is easily solo-launchable. It did handle a bit heavily once in the air; getting it past 30 feet of line took some persistence, but you get the hang of it.I've also uploaded some action pictures and video of the assembly to give you any idea of size, and some flight footage (skip to the end of the video if that's what you want to see).

We love this dragon kite. It was no more expensive than other less elaborate kites, and it flies and flies well. It looks great up in the air or close at hand. Although it has crashed a few times, it survived all crashes with flying colors. My husband loves calling me "The Mother of Dragons" when I fly it. You won't be disappointed by this kite.

I bought this for my girlfriend. We took it to the beach and flew it for about 30 minutes. The kite went together very easily, although you might feel like you're going to break it getting some of the rods into their fittings. Don't worry, just bend the rods a bit more than you're comfortable doing; and it goes together in a jiffy. The kite flew well the first time (OK, the second time, since my girlfriend didn't understand how to hold it for launch the first time). It does require a bit of wind to stay aloft. 7-8 mph should be the lower end of what it takes. And I'd recommend letting out as much of the cord as possible as quickly as possible in marginal conditions (wind is usually stronger higher). But it looks beautiful with the light shinning through the wings, and you will definitely get everyone's attention. The build quality seems very good, although it really doesn't look much like the picture. Its head is very three dimensional (think Chinese dragon puppet) with internal rods that hold the mouth open, and plastic eyes with pupils. And it doesn't rear up as in the pic, rather its body is straight, with a streamer trailing from the tip of each wing. Overall, i can't say enough about this kite. It disassembles as quickly as it goes together, and should be loads of fun for anyone.

I fly kites off cruise ships, now that I'm too old to play Hockey, etc. With a Senator 9 series reel and a Senator rod with 6000 feet of 100 # test braided Dacron, this puppy will enter any nearby airport holding pattern. My brother tells me you're only young once, but you can be immature forever. I "resemble" that remark!!!!!!!

I bought this kite for my son to use on vacation at the beach . We took it out of the box and it was missing the plastic bar that goes across the wings . Totally unable to use it. It was a very disappointing to my son who was looking forward to flying it. And I wasnot happy that I spent 30 dollars on a kite we couldn't use.

This is a fun 3-D kite. The dragon head has a mouth that is designed to stay open and it fills the tail with air like a wind sock. This is a great kite for the beach. It flies pretty easily without any diving or crashing. The size is perfect, just big enough to appreciate the dragon design but not so big that it is difficult to manage. I purchased one of the nicer circular kite string reels to go with it and that was money well spent. Made it easy to reel back in when I was ready to go! I've attached a photo but you can barely see the kite in it because it was flying so high.

As the description states, you need at least 11 mph wind. i used it in 18-20 mph wind and it was awesome! Easy to get it up and it was easy to reel in. i also used it in about 10-12 mph winds and it was ok, took more to get it up, but once up was great. I found that the first time was a little work to assemble, but now I have a dedicated place to keep it under a bed and love to just go grab it on a breezy day and enjoy it. Would recommend this kite...

AWESOME! I bought a smaller version of this kite for $35 (3' wing span) last year for my sisters kid at a local kite shop....what a mistake as this one is twice as large almost for less cash! It is EVERYTHING the 5 star reviews have stated. Here's my pic of it in flight....

Dragonfly Kites

Fifth House Publishers. 2016 gbs preview - Brainstorm Dragon WindnSun 3-D Nylon Kite, 76"

Dragonfly Kites is the third book in Tomson Highway's magical Songs of the North Wind trilogy. Like Fox on the Ice and Caribou Song, it has a bilingual text, written in English and Cree. And once again Tomson Highway brilliantly evokes the very essence of childhood as he weaves a deceptively simple story about the power of the imagination. Joe and Cody, two young Cree brothers, along with their parents and their little dog Ootsie, are spending the summer by one of the hundreds of lakes in northern Manitoba. Summer means a chance to explore the world and make friends with an array of creatures, But what Joe and Cody like doing best of all is flying dragonfly kites. They catch dragonflies and gently tie a length of thread around the middle of each dragonfly before letting it go. Off soar the dragonflies into the summer sky and off race the brothers and Ootsie too, chasing after their dragonfly kites through trees and meadows and down to the beach before watching them disappear into the night sky. But in their dreams, Joe and Cody soar through the skies with their kites until it's time to wake up.
