Last year’s Polaroid Snap was fun— a camera with a built-in printer. But Polaroid has stepped it up big time with a new model. I have the original Polaroid Snap and it is great. It’s fun with instant gratification and about right for the price. But Polaroid has taken everything missing in the lower price point version and added it AND MORE to this new model. What you get in the box:' The Polaroid Snap TouchScreen Camera'1 Pack of Zink Photo Paper (10 sheets = 10 photos)' USB to Micro USB charging cable' Magnetic Lens Cap' Wrist Strap' Instruction Book (a plus because the first model had nothing!)What you may want:' More Zink Photo Paper – premium or regular – I suggest the Polaroid POLZ2X350 2x3-Inch Premium Zink Photo Paper Quintuple Pack for Polaroid Snap, Z2300, Socialmatic Instant Cameras & Zip Instant Printer (50 Sheets)' An SD card (can be up to 128 MB) – the camera will store about 10 photos without an SD cardThis camera has added so many features – I’m really impressed in the improvements. The top benefits:1. It’s a 13 MP camera – great detail and the ability to ZOOM in and out using the touch screen (in comparison, the Fuji Instax has no megapixels because you can’t save the photo)2. You can take photos or video – (video is also something the Fuji Instax is not capable of)3. It has a built-in flash with the ability to turn it on/off or auto4. It has an LCD display for viewing your photo in advance (as compared to the previous Snap that has a mock-window that gave you a general idea of the picture)5. It has a ton of control features including: optional date/time stamp; fun borders, stickers, and effects that can be added right from the camera before printing, photo booth (creates three photos in a row that become a single picture)6. It has been good so far in low light settings. Much more clarity than the original Snap.7. It has a rechargeable battery via a USB to micro USB cable (the same cable you use to do firmware updates) with good battery life.8. I has a burst mode where you can take a series of photos quickly9. It has a tiny mirror on the front for taking selfies so you can at least get an idea if your face is in the middle of the shot.10. You can attach it to a tripod and there is a built-in timer11. It makes noise so you can tell that the photo was taken (although you have control over the volume and can turn it off)12. It has a Bluetooth feature if you want to connect a smartphone to the camera for printing photos. You have to download an app first. I have not been able to get my phone (Samsung S7 Edge) to connect but will continue to try.And the best feature is……13. IT PRINTS RIGHT FROM THE CAMERA! How cool is this. It’s about the same size as other point and shoot cameras but it will print mini photos right from the camera. It holds 10 sheets at a time and they can be purchased as regular photo paper or sticker prints. Instant gratification, personal and private, great for sharing, great for weddings, parties, and whatever. The list goes on.This great feature has been enhanced because Polaroid added this: you can control the print function. On the previous Snap, it printed automatically as long as there was paper inside. But this camera allows you to choose if you want to print AND gives the option for setting the number of prints too.All of the questions and issues that many commented about on the first version have been addressed and more. The drawback to any instant print camera is the cost of the paper, anywhere from 31¢ for the standard paper to 40¢ per sheet for the premium paper (and the size of the package changes the cost per sheet as well). The prints are only 2”x 3”. The quality of the prints is actually one of the downfalls. There are sometimes streaks in the paper, although you can get much better quality print if you upgrade to the Premium paper. As a note, the paper needs to go in with the blue sheet face down. You have the option of taking your SD card out and printing full size or larger prints as well so you lose nothing in your photo control. Firmware updates are easy and instructions are on the Polaroid website. Having your photos to share – other than prints, is a huge benefit over the Fuji Instax. And since the Snap take a high resolution photo, you can print them big or small as well as post and transfer photos electronically. You could easily print a 10x14 with the resolution quality of the digital file.
*Normal print of pic & added border of same pic*I received this as a Christmas present and was very excited to start playing with it.I'm not normally a photography guy so this for me is just for fun, and being extra. The camera:Stylish points10/10 -matte finish, Magnetic lens cover (looks really cool to put on) slightly wider then iPhone 5s but same length (convienent size)Picture quality (including printed out)*I'm not into photography, just a regular person who thought this Polaroid is a cool thing to have*7/10- I didn't expect amazing photo quality, and this is around exactly what I imagined the quality would be. I would compare it to being a good portion better better than printing a 4x6 at Walgreens with your iPhoneAll in all, I wanted this Polaroid instead of the Fuji film instax mini for a number of reasons1.) the ST is about the size of an iPhone, the FFIM is much larger and wider so it makes it inconvient to carry around places whereas the ST fits in your pocket2.) The power to choose!! Oh my gosh that is handsdown the best feature of the ST, I can recall so many times blinking or just getting a bad pic with the FFIM and having to retake and wait for the picture to reprint before hopefully not wasting more film paper (it's not that cheap) BUT with the ST you can choose which pics to print off, add effects(filters, stickers).3.) Printing - The ST, when you print, takes 32 seconds and they come out already finished, unlike the FFIM were you have to wait for the photo to emerge from the blank filmConclusion:This is a meant for fun camera, it has awesome features the older Polaroids didnt (sadly) and as a product it's a great balance between retro and new age. Have fun with it!
Only had it for 4 months and it has a battery problem. The battery charges to 47% and gets super hot. Contacted polaroid, and they basically said, it's not their problem.
I purchased this the day it was released (not through Amazon) because I had to have it THAT DAY. 🙂 I'm all about instant gratification. I had purchased the Polaroid Snap a few days before that, but was still on the fence about it and was considering returning it. I had a few issues that I wasn't nuts about with the original. My biggest problem was the cost to print and not being able to control which pictures print. When I saw that the new Polaroid Snap Touch would allow you to choose the pictures to print, and you could even edit them from the camera before you printed, I was sold. For the pros - this camera is easy to use. It prints pictures immediately from the camera. My kids think it's the greatest thing ever. It was easy to set up and to work taking pictures. Being able to choose which pictures to print is a huge money saver over the snap, because each picture will cost you about 50 cents to print and you don't want to be wasting paper. It's easy to add pictures and frames, and apply a new filter. The cons - My biggest issue is that the magnetic lens cap keeps popping off, leaving the lens exposed and making it so I have to dig through the purse to find the cap. Also, the flash will pop up when it's in my purse - which turns the camera on. I've realized that I now need a $20 case for this camera because of the design flaws of this camera. Also, sometimes the touchscreen is not as responsive as I would like it to be.I would love to pull the pictures onto my phone so I could judge the quality but the iOS app hasn't been released yet. I'm hoping that is a seamless release and it all goes well.Overall, this is a solid 4 star product. Having to buy a separate case for this takes away a little of the thrill of this product for me.

I'm very happy with this polaroid! I'm a really big fan of photography and cameras and I had been wanting an instant camera for a while. I finally bough this for my birthday to myself. First of all, I had some worries about the quality, I read so many reviews that were not convinced about this camera and I didn't know if I wanted to risk it, so here is what convinced me to buy it.Pros:-No batteries (that I saw were needed in other cameras), this might be something not so bothersome but its 2016 and a camera shouldnt need AA batteries.-Memory Card, you can store your pics, have them on your computer, share them, whatever. I recently used this to take a picture with a foreign friend and was able to give her the picture, knowing that I would have a copy of it. Really cool.-Doesn't look like a toy, I know this might not be an issue for everyone but I am seriously not into any of the designs of the Fuji ones, and believe me, before I made my choice between cameras I saw all of them in person in Urban Outfitters and Best Buy,-Paper can be a little cheaper, its not that big of a difference, but its a plus-Filters, this comes in b&w, regular colors and vintage colors, its cool they come out even more cool (hipster for some people I guess). Also the advantage of being able to have it with or withour border or having the photobooth option. What I was worried about:-Filters, I read some reviews about it coming out wrong, light, etc, I do have to say that color and b&w are perfectly fine, the vintage one is the only one I've had issues with, can't seem to make it work in a way that looks amazing like the other two.- I read about the framing of the picture, how what you see through the eyehole was not what came out in the picture, and its true, but It's not as bad as I read. In reality what gets printed is a cropped version from what you see through the eyehole, so if you're trying to make a lot of people fit into a picture you should try to leave extra space on the sides.-Quality, but as I said before, they come out fine, at least i think so, I had fuji pictures (taken with friends' cameras) and my pictures and they really do seem great to me.Cons:-You need to look up the user guide on the internet, its on the polaroid web page, but everything is there-The lens cover, don't forget to take it off!!- The eyehole/on button is very sensitive and can open at any moment, I bought a case so it wouldn't be a problem anymore. All in all I really thing its a great choice, great price, but I get why people would prefer other cameras. I hope this review was helpful, and sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language.(Pics uploaded were taken by me, one in the vintage filter, the other one in regular colors)
I've only had this camera for a day, but there're definitely some things I wish I had looked into before purchasing.First: the flash doesn't always go off. And there's no way to turn it on/off. I took a picture next to a lamp - no flash. I moved about three feet away and the flash went off. I ended up with a photo with a lit background and two dark figures. That was unfortunate...Second: for some reason, this camera would NOT take photos outside at night. I tried several times. I thought it was malfunctioning or breaking! And this was only after TWO photos. But I took it inside (and took the lamp/distant lamp photos then) and found the camera was working fine.Third (connected to the flash problem): sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the photo is going to print or not. When I took it outside at night, it made an obvious clicking noise as though it were going to print. Nothing. I took it inside and got no flash so, assuming the picture wasn't printing, began adjusting the camera. Then I heard the printer start going... I got a blurry selfie.Fourth: there's a firmware update, and I need a microSD to get it! I plan on only using this camera for instant photos (even if the photos don't come out perfect - the mistakes and terrible shots get to be part of the fun and memories), but I imagine I'll want the firmware update to avoid any other problems, so I may just purchase it.Those are my qualms. Overall, it is SUCH a cute camera. I should also mention (to my surprise), the camera doesn't come with instructions. It was just packaging with info, e.g. instant photos, etc. printed on it. Not difficult at all to figure it out, though, considering there are only four buttons. I like the magnetic lens cover. It comes with a wrist strap, too. I can't attest to how the photos actually look when you don't print them and look at them on the computer or something, but the printed photos are all right. A sibling has the Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic, and I think her photos come out better. The color is nice and a bit more vibrant. I've tried only two out of three of the color settings on the Polaroid Snap, and even the one with full color comes out a bit dull.I am satisfied with my purchase and do enjoy the camera.Edited: after about a week with this camera and both perusing reviews for other instant cameras and seeing them in action, this one just doesn't seem worth the buy. The best thing about it is probably its cute physical aesthetic, but performance-wise, it is disappointing.

The new generation of Polaroid for instant gratification.

User reviews

We received exactly what is pictured and everything lived up to expectations. The camera itself is pretty neat, but it has one minor, annoying issue. To power on the camera you flip the flash open by pressing down to release it. (Like a clicky pen, if you know what I mean.) The flash was catching on one side and not opening. We learned how to work around it, but it would be nice if the camera had just a bit better build quality.I'm sure the majority do not have this issue. Before we figured out why it wouldn't power on, I Emailed the company for support. They never replied.
Really enjoy this camera and everything it came with. Only problem is that it turns on and off often while it's in the case. This drains the battery so I have to keep an eye on that.
This is all it was said to be. Perfect gift.
Once I finally got it, it has been fun to use. Thank you!
JUNK Camera worked twice then no pictures would print and then the screen won't work. I missed the return window so here I sit with a $250 piece of junk. Happy birthday to my daughter...

Point, shoot and print with the Kodak Instant Print Camera

User reviews

When Kodak announced they will release a Zink instant camera, I could not be happier. As an owner of the Polaroid Zink Snap and Fuji Instax 9, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one. Growing up we always had Kodak around the house, and we have many pictures that we printed with our Kodak’s. And I am very excited about the PrintomaticFirst of all for the price of $69.99 it is a great value, and the design looks great, you can choose a yellow or grey color version. The Zink quality is great with the camera.Included in the box is: Printomatic, USB cable, QSG, Hand Strap. (Note no paper is included so make sure you get some of those as well)Even though Fuji Instax is similar price, Instax quality doesn’t compare to the Kodak Zink quality. Also with Kodak it is a digital camera so you can save the pictures you take, and most important cost per print is $0.50 for Zink and it is close to $1 for FujiIt was very simple to insert the paper into the camera back door, just make sure blue paper is facing downwards , which will print out in first print and it cleans the cameraVery simple to use, choose color or black and white option, then just snap. And picture will print out very fast. All in all I highly recommend this as your instant option
If your expectations are realistic for this reasonably priced item, you will be happy. $70 (+$0.50/photo paper sheet) is, in my book, reasonable for a camera/printer in one, considering that there is never a need to purchase toner, and there is the option for a Mini SD/ability to save digitally. I think the manufacturer photos/videos are realistic, they make no claims to great photo quality - the best thing about this camera is the fun, instant factor. The photo quality will seem subpar, in comparison to the excellent cameras we are all used to now on our smartphones, but in good lighting (esp outdoors), the color/picture is good. Do not expect super sharp details, or super vibrant colors. Great fun for parties, photo booth option with instant gratification (photos are immediately dry, pretty darn water resistant and sticky backed for collage fun). Minus 1 star because it is shutter button is SO easy to hit, at $0.50 a pop it gets annoying (every picture taken prints, no choice), really should have a lock or require firmer pushing. Defined area in viewfinder is a bit hard to see.Camera does beep when turned on and ready, and when shutter has been pressed. Kodak does provide a manual online, no manual included, worth a quick perusal for details like ‘don’t add more paper until empty, ‘camera holds up to 3 images’ (as in it will retain 3 photos if you’re out of paper and you have not inserted microSD).
Takes a little getting used to since this version doesn’t have an lcd screen but it’s lots of fun to use and having instant wallet size prints is cool.I haven’t downloaded the pics to my pc yet so I honestly cannot attest to the quality of full size photos but they should be adequate for fun photos. The cost of zink packs equals about $.50 a print so get one and have fun making small photos for your scrapbooks to fill extra space on your pages.
Camera works great and 3 stars are for picture quality. Color pictues are sort of greyish but its perfect for a kid or some sort od journaling or scrap booking. Love the backing sticker paper. And someone put that camera comes with photo paper, no it does not. Need to buy it separetely.
I couldn't find a better gift for my teenager !!!What a great idea not to have to go on a computer and go the old way and those teenagers have the pictures so professional and so quick I definitely highly recommend this camera especially for this price.I took the Gray because I like the color better than the yellow it's very cool.Abe.
Love how simple and easy it's to operate, creates great photos, can't believe it's so inexpensive, I would totally recommend this to anyone, specially for inexpensive gifts.
A great gift for those little budding photographers!!! Watching my niece and nephew running around shooting any object that would stay still long enough was priceless. The ability to print instantly keeps them very interested in the hobby. Great for weddings, birthday parties, etc. Simple, inexpensive and really a great little gift for all ages.
Saw this and loved the retro colors and the ability to print instant pictures that are also stickers. It didn't disappoint. Love that a switch on top turns it from color to B&W photos. And, if I want, I can put in a micro sd card and save photos to it.

I did so much research before buying this product, I was trying to decide between this and the Polaroid One Step 2. I was so excited to buy this camera. I chose this camera because of the zink paper and ability to print pictures from your smart phone. First of all the zink paper is awful, the prints are worse than printing from an inkjet printer that is low on ink. I tried several packages of zink paper to make sure I didn't get a bad batch. The second problem is the app you have to have installed to print from your smart phone is still in development and is "unreleased". I was never able to link the Polaroid Pop to my smart phone because the app wasn't capable of syncing the Polaroid Pop to my phone. This is one of the most disappointing purchases I've made. I am returning the product and getting the Polaroid One Step 2 instead.Don't buy this as a Christmas gift because the receiver of the gift will be extremely disappointed.
A convinced skeptic. Fast printing ~1minute; High quality picture; Good editing and easy to use app. Could not ask more from a instant print camera.
fantastic camera & great new features, but they should have it charged before it is shipped --- it took a while to figure why it wasn't turning on
Camera froze repeatedly. The app kept crashing as I was trying to connect my phone to the camera. The print quality is not good color wise. The device is flimsy, has a plastic feel to it. The pictures are also nowhere near what your smartphone is capable of. Stay away !!
Amazing!! I am absolutely in love with this camera. This camera has so many features and I love all of them! The POP takes beautiful shots and I love playing around with the App and editing my picturesI would recommend this camera to anyone.
Everything is easy to use and the app malfunctions quiet often. In my order I didn’t get film (you get a 10pack with the starter kit) so that was bummer. (That was the only downside.) 20mega pixels are meh to ok picture quality but the video and gifs are good quality. I’ll update this probably after a month or when something goes wrong.
Where to begin?? After using it for 2 minutes -after fully charged- it just turned off by itself and we had to reset it. Pictures didn’t print; linking it to the app was not an easy task; the turn off button doesn’t work; I mean... just don’t buy it. I’m returning mine.
Very cool camera! Spent a while researching this. I wanted a big prints. I have the other Polaroid – Snap Touch – but got tired of the small prints. I prefer the larger, traditional polaroid prints. I was debating between this camera, the one step 2, Fuji Wide and Square. Though I like the feel of the old Film, I do not have the time or patience to wait for the prints to develop. It takes forever. The Fuji is a few minutes, but the one step 2, is more than 10minutes and I don’t have time for that. Aside from professionals, I am not sure who does. I like the feel and look of the POP. It certainly stands out. The prints come out instantly vibrant, like the snap touch, in about one minute. The polaroid frame is already there. Very good quality. There are some cool features in the camera that I don’t have a use for – gif, video, editing – but I suspect my kids and others would like that. Overall, great purchase. I also used the app a few times to print my old phone pictures straight to the camera. That’s a neat little feature. Very convenient if you have saved pictures that you want to see printed but don’t have time to order online. Five stars
